Want to model?

Interested in modelling?
I’d love to hear from you.

I generally work with male models, you don’t have to be a professional bodybuilder, but generally the models I work with are in shape or have an interesting ‘alternative’ look. Below are a few Frequently Asked Questions to help you get an idea of the way I tend to work. Ultimately though, I like to produce pictures that fulfill what you need as a model, as well as the kind of style i’m looking to create.

I’m not a model, would you do a photoshoot with me?
Quite possibly, you don’t need to have experience of modelling (most of the people i’ve worked with haven’t) you just have to be open to ideas and happy to spend some time working together to get a good result.

How long does a shoot take?
It depends! Mainly on the number of locations or the complexity of what we’re trying to achieve. But as a guide i’d allow at least 2 hours, longer if we’re walking around a city finding locations as we go.) But usually no more than 3-4 hours at the most.

What kind of people do you like to work with?
Friendly people who are open to ideas! Generally I only shoot with guys, as it’s male portraiture skills i’m trying to develop. I’m particularly interested in working with muscular men and bodybuilders but if you have an interesting or distinctive alternative look i might be interested too! If you’re not sure, get in touch, it’s always worth a chat.

What does TFCD/TFP (“Time for” shoot) mean?
In simple terms, you give your time for free as a model, and in return you get free photos to use in your portfolio. Generally, after a shoot i’ll email you a link to download a file containing high resolution versions of the final shots (suitable for prints) as well as some smaller versions suitable for use on websites like Facebook.

How many images will i get?
It depends on how well the shoot goes and how many different setups we create. But typically you’ll get 5-10 polished images.

Do you provide wardrobe?
No, you’ll need to provide your own clothing. Usually models bring along a selection of outfits and accessories to mix and match.

Can we meet up to discuss a shoot?
Absolutely, if after exchanging messages online we’re both interested in working together, then i’m happy to meet locally for a coffee where practical to discuss ideas. The main thing is that you’re totally comfortable with the shoot and what will happen on the day.

I’ve got an idea for something creative, are you interested?
Yes…get in touch, i’d love to hear your ideas!

Are the images mine to keep?
Yes, but the copyright remains mine. You’ll get a copy of your images along with a print release which allows you to use the images as you like for non-commercial purposes.

Do you shoot porn?
NO. It’s not about naked photos, and generally i’ll only shoot shirtless or underwear shots at the most. While i’m not saying my photography is art, it’s not porn either, so you can be comfortable that a shoot will be professional and not create any photos you wouldn’t want to show your granny!

Should I have a haircut, fake tan, or sunbed the day before the shoot?
Generally speaking, no! If a haircut is going to radically change your look, let me know so i can plan for it. Fake tans and sunbeds the day before can leave you looking bright orange or lobster red in the shots! If you’re not sure, just ask!

Can I bring a friend to the shoot?
Yes, I don’t mind you bringing one friend along (by prior arrangement), so long as the friend doesn’t mind pitching in to carry equipment and help out and understands they may spend a lot of time standing around.

I’m interested, what do I do next?
Great! Get in touch either on Facebook or by using the contact form and i’ll get back to you!
